My newest book is The Swiss Family Robinson. This story is about a Swedish Family named Robinson. I know, you wouldn't have ever guess what the book was about from the title, right?

Anyway, we open with the family on some type of ship, be it their own or one they're just hitching a ride on, that is being torn apart by a deadly storm. Crew members are jumping ship, and the family must fend for themselves.
The father of the family, so far no name has been given, has taken it upon himself to save his family and the animals on board. He comes up with a plan to nail together eight tubs to transport his family, some animals, and other supplies to near by land. They arrive safely and begin to set up camp. They begin to face hardships like wild life, food shortage, and possible savages. I won't ruin anything for you, because this book is very intuitive and well written.
This story reminds me a bit of one of my favorite shows, Lost. This is because they are on an unknown island trying to survive, and they must overcome hardships to get off safely, and go home.

  1. I read this several years ago, and it was pretty good. It was pretty good from what I remember.

  2. I watched the movie and it was cool. Do they build that awesome treehouse in the book too?

  3. I'm not that far yet :)
I hope that happens, I haven't heard about any cool treehouses!

  4. The Island of Doctor Moreau (I think it's a classic, personally) took place on an island after the main char. was shipwrecked. I'd bet things go better for your family, however.
